and PLS read the "Note: This is just an INSTALLER"
Meaning if you have PD7 still up and running, Do not

this torrent is indeed useless. would someone please provide a working key. v8 is much faster than v7 in term of app launching time. i have heard people saying that v8 is just v7 with retina display support. not true people. it is better in many aspects. when running in full screen mode in v7 you move your cursor to the top of the display, the apple menu bar appears, which is super annoying. it should not be there. it ruins the user experience. i am very pleased that this is finally fixed in v8.

What do you mean doesn't work. I renamed the parallels folder mentioned by the other user. I was then presented with new screen asking to start the trial again. I also had box with a slew of programs comeup and I clicked on the choice to use an exhisting virtual machine.

TRUST ME ON THIS SOLUTION :)
here is a method I just tested and it works!!!!
I was using Version 7 until I upgraded my OS to latest Moutian Lion and version 7 said not compatible. I installed 8 yesterday and it said 14 day trial. Today, it said 13 days left. I reran the install of version 7. I had to stop version 8 first to have this install. Of course, it said NOT compatible with my version. I THEN reinstalled Version 8 and guess what....it now says 14 days left of trial. I made sure that BEFORE I first reinstalled my older version 7, I deleted the reference parallels folder mentioned in this thread. TRY THIS!

In previous versions, before entering the serial number, you've got to edit your hosts file (located in '/etc/hosts').

Add these to your hosts file:

Since Parallels still called home even after I added all those hosts to my hosts file, I fired up TCPDump to have a look.
Turns out it went to

webservices.pdfm8.parallels.com

So you may want to add this one as well.

I now can confirm it works, but only if you have trial for >1 day left. Otherwise you have yo clean Parallels totally from your Mac, with all terminal commands from previous replies, and start from scratch, get 14 days en keep >1 day, go to terminal and execute command, enter fake etct etc...
